For the second consecutive year, English teacher Emily Taylor (Swansea Freshman Academy, Swansea SC) has invited us to come and speak to the entire 9th grade class about our books. In preparation for our appearance, students could choose one of our books and were subsequently assigned homework that involved critical thinking questions about the content. (see social media post below)
I was joined by second generation survivor Karl Goldberg who spoke passionately about his parents (Bluma and Felix) and the horrific experiences they went through during six years of World War II: 1939-1945. Students listened intently and asked many questions.
