On March 29, 2023, Frank Baker and Esther Greenberg jointly addressed the challenges and opportunities of teaching about the Holocaust by focusing on the stories of Holocaust survivors. A large, standing room only crowd, came to hear Greenberg testify about her parent’s Holocaust survival story, while Baker spoke about antisemitism, the lack of knowledge about the Holocaust by many young people, and the development of the graphic novel, “We Survived The Holocaust The Bluma and Felix Goldberg Story.” Following the talk, copies of the book were available for purchase and autographs. Their appearance at Furman coincided with the traveling exhibit “Americans & The Holocaust.”
