2026 will mark 13 years since I first embarked on an effort to get a publisher interested in creating a book for young people about the Great Blue Heron– a bird whose life cycle I have documented via my photography.
No one expressed an interest. Until NOW…
I’m most proud to announce that I have signed a contract to write a nonfiction, science-oriented book for young people about the Great Blue Heron.
It will feature full color photos that I’ve captured over the years documenting the life cycle of the GBH.
The book will be released by Columbia- based Lucky Rabbit Publishing— specializing in children’s books.
The tentative title is: “Discover the Science, Habits, and Habitat of North America’s Largest Heron”
Their CEO is Annette Flavel. Look for updates throughout the coming year.
