If memory serves correct, I was 8 years old\u00a0when it was\u00a0shown in 1963. And I remember being scared out of my\u00a0wits during the\u00a0&#8220;attack in the woods&#8221; scenes.<\/p>\n<p>I have been working on a teacher guide to help literature teachers better\u00a0use the film in their classrooms. Teacher guides to\u00a0the novel are abundant,\u00a0but I was never able to locate a guide devoted solely to the film, so this is\u00a0the first attempt to more fully explore\u00a0this classic via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankwbaker.com\/mlc\/mockingbird-film-language\/\">&#8216;language of film.<\/a>&#8216; Because I am also promoting\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankwbaker.com\/mlc\/mockingbird-dvd-classroom\/\">use of the film on DVD<\/a>, a large portion of\u00a0the guide will be devoted\u00a0to helping educators become more familiar and comfortable with this new\u00a0technology.<\/p>\n<p>I invite educators to consider introducing students to both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankwbaker.com\/mlc\/mockingbird-media-literacy\/\">media literacy<\/a>\u00a0and the language of film by using the resources produced here.
