taking literature and converting into a script\/screenplay<br \/>\n<strong>art director<\/strong>&#8211; person in charge of the &#8220;look&#8221; of the film<br \/>\n<strong>camera<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0 a photographic device which shoots film or records digitally<br \/>\n<strong>character<\/strong>&#8211; a person portrayed in a film<br \/>\n<strong>cinematographer<\/strong>&#8211; the person responsible for shooting a film<br \/>\n<strong>closed captions<\/strong>&#8211; transcript of dialogue, hidden in a TV or video signal<br \/>\n<strong>cutting<\/strong> (aka editing)- the process of putting the film together in a logical sequence<br \/>\n<strong>director<\/strong>&#8211; the person on the set who shapes and molds the film<br \/>\n<strong>establishing shot<\/strong>&#8211; a wide shot; a wide angle<br \/>\n<strong>eyeline match<\/strong>&#8211; a cut that follows the axis of action principle<br \/>\n<strong>film language<\/strong>&#8211; those elements of a film (i.e. camera, lights, wardrobe, sound, etc.) that help viewers understand meaning<br \/>\n<strong>film score<\/strong>&#8211; the music or soundtrack written specifically for a film<br \/>\n<strong>flashback <\/strong>&#8211; a technique used to reveal action that occurred earlier<br \/>\n<strong>foreshadow<\/strong>&#8211; some action or clue revealing something to occur later<br \/>\n<strong>framing<\/strong>&#8211; use of the edges of the film frame to select and to compose what will be seen<br \/>\n<strong>lighting<\/strong>&#8211; illumination of scenes accomplished by the use of several devices<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>media literacy<\/strong>&#8211; the ability to access, analyze interpret and produce communications<br \/>\n<strong>misc-en-scene<\/strong>&#8211; all of the elements that the camera photographs<br \/>\n<strong>pace<\/strong>&#8211; how quickly or slowly a scene or a film moves; manipulated by editing or other devices<br \/>\n<strong>perspective<\/strong>&#8211; the angle at which something is viewed<br \/>\n<strong>point of view<\/strong> (POV)- a shot taken with the camera placed at an actor&#8217;s eye level; showing what he\/she would see<br \/>\n<strong>producer <\/strong>-one who attracts financing for a film to be produced; in charge of overall production<br \/>\n<strong>p<\/strong><strong>roduction<\/strong>&#8211; the organizational process of putting a film together; controlling the elements<br \/>\n<strong>screen play\/screenwriter<\/strong>&#8211; the written work of a film (sometimes an adaptation)\/author<br \/>\n<strong>setting<\/strong>&#8211; the location of a scene or of a film<br \/>\n<strong>shooting and assembly <\/strong>(editing)- see cutting<br \/>\n<strong>sound<\/strong>&#8211; all of the elements of a film: music, sound effects, ambient sound etc.<br \/>\n<strong>soundtrack<\/strong>&#8211; see film score<br \/>\n<strong>staging<\/strong>&#8211; the producing or directing of a film<br \/>\n<strong>storyboard-<\/strong> artist rendering of how a scene might look, with specific details for camera, lighting etc.<br \/>\n<strong>symbolism<\/strong>&#8211;
