Baker has been honored with a international UNESCO Global Alliance For Media &amp; Information Literacy recognition; a national <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prlog.org\/12237606-nations-oldest-media-literacy-organization-celebrates-60-years-honors-three.html\"><strong>Jessie McCanse Awardee<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.frankwbaker.com\/LiL.pdf\">\u201cLeaders in Learning\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0honoree. He is a consultant to the SC Writing Improvement Network,\u00a0and former consultant to the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).\u00a0He\u00a0has conducted hundreds of workshops for educators and students across the United States.<\/p>\n<p>MLC&#8217;s mission is to assist K-12 educators who want to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teach standards that include non-print, media texts<\/li>\n<li>Learn more about media literacy<\/li>\n<li>Integrate it into classroom instruction<\/li>\n<li>Help students read the media<\/li>\n<li>Help students become more media aware<\/li>\n<li>Locate appropriate resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Media Literacy Clearinghouse was created by educator Frank W. Baker in response to a need.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, 1998, there was no one central place, on the Internet,\u00a0where educators could go and locate appropriate resources for teaching about media and media literacy.\u00a0 With that in mind, Baker created the Media Literacy Clearinghouse.\u00a0\u00a0It has received rave reviews.
