ShareNation 2016

The Media Literacy Clearinghouse was proud to have participated in the ShareNation STEM Fair when it came to Irmo High School, Columbia SC on Saturday March 12, 2016.  The focus of our exhibit was STEAM and the media, but more specifically the movies. Participants could create their own animated flipbooks; experience early moving image devices such as a zoetrope (circa 1834) or praxinoscope (1874); remotely drive robot Wall-E (from the Disney/Pixar film) or BB-8 (from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.) and learn about motion capture, green screen, math in animation and much, much more.

There were hundreds of parents, teachers and students. Those that I met were extremely interested in this topic. Here are some images:
