JoAnn Stover, library media specialist at Sherwood Middle School, was anxious to
share new information after attending workshop “Integrating Media Literacy into the
K-12 classroom”.  It just so happened, a teacher at Sherwood was just about to
teach her students about propaganda.

8th grade Reading Language Arts teacher, Christine Crosa, was appreciative of
Mr. Baker’s website and the wealth of information that would fit into her lesson.
Also, Mrs. Crosa had her students search for tobacco advertisements so they
could “deconstruct” the ads in class.  Then, each student also had to come up
with his/her own parody of the tobacco ad.
Ms. Stover put this bulletin board in the 8th grade hallway to tie in with the lesson.
