School Library Media Specialist: Jean Power
Jean devoted her first bulletin board to films related to novels. This board is
located right inside the media center in a visible place as students (and teachers)
come into and out of the media center.
Jean writes: "Our bulletin board illustrates movies that are based on novels.
The idea ties in to the concepts of all media being constructed, and media
having unique languages. We photocopied video and DVD boxes, "posters"
from a movie catalog, and printed a couple of ads from the web (crediting
those sources) along with blurbs. Movie posters are displayed on the wall
adjacent to the bulletin board. Our English teachers do a terrific job teaching
with and about movies, and this bulletin board supplements their efforts."
