The SC State Department of Education's English Language Arts team 
conducted four training sessions on the revised ELA Standards in January 
and February 2003 in Columbia, South Carolina.  As part of that training,
media educator Frank Baker demonstrated how teachers can begin to
integrate the new Communication-Viewing standards.  In November 2005,
and December 2006, I conducted two "Best Practices" workshops on the
same topic. Posted below are the handouts that were distributed to participants.
