Jeff Share

Jeff Share worked for ten years as a freelance photojournalist documenting situations of poverty and social activism on three continents. His photographs were published nationally and international. In 1987 he won First Prize News Features/Series and the Oskar Barnack Award at World Press Photo.
He spent six years teaching bilingual primary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. During this time he also earned his Master’s Degree from Vermont College, focusing on: Media Literacy for Transformative Education.
After spending several years as the Regional Coordinator for Training at the Center for Media Literacy, he earned his Ph.D. in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Jeff currently works as a Faculty Advisor for UCLA’s Teacher Education Program and continues his research and practice focusing on the teaching of critical media literacy in K-12 education.
