Possible student assignment
Assign students, or teams of students, to research the backgrounds of one of the FSA/OWI photographers and one or more of their images: (John Collier, Louise Rosskam, Gordon Parks, Dorothea Lange, Russell Lee, Walker Evans, Marion Post Wolcott, Carl Mydans, Ben Shahn, and
Jack Delano) Each team should create a multimedia production about the photographer and his/her work for the US government  (Background on each can be found here; see also additional resources listed below). Other students might explore "photography as propaganda."
